CELPIP Standard
CELPIP, or the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program, is a standardized English language test designed for individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada or work in a Canadian organization. The test assesses the language skills of candidates in four areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. CELPIP is recognized by the Canadian government as a language proficiency requirement for immigration to Canada and is also accepted by many Canadian organizations and institutions for job or study purposes.
CELPIP is available in two versions: CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS. The CELPIP-General test is for individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and assesses the general language skills, whereas the CELPIP-General LS is for individuals who wish to work in a specific field such as healthcare, law, or engineering and assesses their language skills related to their field. The test is computer-based, with the speaking and listening sections being done in person at a test center. Results are usually available within 10-12 business days of the test date.

Curriculum Description
The goal of the CELPIP Group Class is to give students the knowledge and test-taking techniques they need to get best scores. The course will cover material and writing techniques for Listening, Writing, Speaking and Reading. After finishing the course, students should be able to recognize and handle challenging or tough questions as well as comprehend exam structure, scoring methodology, and section-specific test-taking tactics.
What You'll Discover
All sections of the test are computer-based, with the speaking and listening sections being done in person at a test center. The test takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete, including breaks between sections.
- Reading: This section assesses the candidate’s ability to understand written English in various contexts such as brochures, emails, and news articles. The section includes multiple-choice questions and takes about 40 minutes to complete.
- Writing: This section assesses the candidate’s ability to communicate effectively in written English in various situations such as writing a letter, an email, and an essay. The section takes about 50 minutes to complete.
- Listening: This section assesses the candidate’s ability to understand spoken English in various contexts such as conversations, lectures, and presentations. The section includes multiple-choice questions and takes about 45 minutes to complete.
- Speaking: This section assesses the candidate’s ability to communicate effectively in spoken English in various situations such as giving a presentation, responding to questions, and participating in a conversation. The section is conducted in person with a qualified test assessor and takes about 20 minutes to complete.

Candidates are required to select the best answer to a question based on the information provided in the passage, and also have to identify the speaker’s attitude and purpose.
- Part C includes a task that requires the candidate to listen to a conversation or a dialogue and answer questions related to the conversation or dialogue. This part tests the candidate’s ability to understand spoken English in real-life situations.
